3 reasons why solid silver and gold are more sustainable

3 reasons why solid silver or gold is more sustainable? It does not get discolored by polishing, it can be repaired in a small workshop – and it is available in 100 percent recycled metal!

1. Solid silver and gold do not get discolored

Jewelry made of solid silver or gold can be polished over and over, year after year, without losing color or becoming ugly – unlike fake jewelry that is plated with only a microscopically thin surface of silver or gold. (When the surface with silver or gold is polished off, the brass color penetrates, which makes it look "discolored")

2. Jewelry in solid silver and gold can be repaired in a small workshop

Solid jewelry is easy to repair. A broken or scratched piece of jewelry can be left to an ordinary local silver and gold workshop – which solder, repair and polish away scratches. Simple! (And sustainable!)

3. Solid silver and gold are available in 100 percent recycled metal

Silver and gold can be bought 100 percent recycled! (Brass, which is used for unsolid jewelry, is however not). The metals can be melted down and used again and again without losing their quality – it does not get more sustainable than that!
